Some things come back, like 90’s pop bands and action movie reboots.

Other things don’t, and once they’re gone, they’re gone…

Weak nature laws have left our wildlife at risk of extinction. As the Government moves to reform our federal environmental legislation, now is the opportunity to demand stronger laws that protect our wild places and wild animals.

Under funding, high levels of discretion, and weakening of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 by successive governments have combined with worsening threats such as climate change and the emergence of gaps in the legislation to mean that the Act is no longer fit for purpose.

We need the Government to take strong and urgent action to strengthen our national environmental laws and turn our extinction crisis around.

Some things don’t come back. Nature needs stronger laws…before some of our most iconic species are gone forever.
