Weak nature laws have left our wildlife at risk of extinction. The Government has committed to reform our federal environmental laws, but we need them to take action now – our wild places and wild animals can’t wait.
Under-funding, subjective decision making, and weakening of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 by successive governments mean that the Act is no longer fit for purpose. Not to mention worsening climate change amplifying the fact our nature needs serious help!
We need the Government to take strong action to strengthen our national environmental laws and turn our extinction crisis around.
