Joy and Simon Ensor are the owners of Yelverton Brook Conservation Sanctuary, a property located approximately 25km north east of Margaret River. The property is a family owned, built and run eco-spa retreat and a dedicated wildlife sanctuary. The eco-friendly accommodation includes 2 x Studios and 3 x Lodges surrounded by natural bushland and set within a predator proofed sanctuary
It is Joy and Simon’s intent for it to continue to be used for the benefit of the local environment, and to manage and educate clients on the beauty of Australian bush and wildlife. The property is also a member of Land for Wildlife and EcoTourism Australia and has held Advanced Eco Certification since December, 2009.
Yelverton Brook covers approximately 40 hectares of natural bushland dominated by eucalypt woodlands on sand and loam soils with a winter stream which is heavily vegetated and provides vital habitat and protection for native fauna. Vegetation types are diverse and include semi temperate bushland along the creek line.
Wildlife known to inhabit the sanctuary includes woylies (Bettongia penicillata), brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) and ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) possums, southern brown bandicoots (Isoodon obesulus) and western grey kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus). Yelverton Brook is also home to over 50 species of bird and a variety of reptiles including snakes, lizards, skinks and goannas.

Stay at Yelverton Brook
*Please note the following message from the owners of Yelverton Brook June 2026
After many years of welcoming guests to Yelverton Brook, we’ve decided it’s time to take a little time out and enjoy an extended “sabbatical”.
Our last proper pause was back in 2012… so this feels like the right moment.
We’ll continue welcoming guests through May and into June, before quietly closing the calendar for a while.
Yelverton Brook isn’t going anywhere – we’re just stepping back to rest, recharge, travel a little and spend more time enjoying the land around us. For now, we’re simply allowing ourselves the space to slow down for a while and see where this season takes us.It will be a quieter chapter for us after 34 wonderful years of sharing this special place with so many lovely guests.
Camping for fully self-contained campers with shower, chemical toilet & no pets will still be available, just contact us directly.
More details on Wikki Camps and Caravan Overnight Farm Stays.
If you’ve been thinking about a stay, we’d absolutely love to welcome you before we take this break – www.yelvertonbrook.com.au
And to everyone who has stayed with us over the years – thank you. Your support, kindness, and memories have meant more to us than we could ever properly put into words.
Note the Nocturnal Tours however will still be running via Southwest Ecodiscoveries so people can still experience the magic at night https://southwestecodiscoveries.com.au/tours/nocturnal-wildlife-tour/
