Gerald Goodhand is the owner of Wildman Wilderness Lodge, a property located approximately 170km south east of Darwin. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and eco-resort offering wildlife-friendly accommodation in the form of small-scale, high quality safari lodges and tents. It is Gerald’s intent for the property to continue to be used for these purposes and, ultimately, for the benefit of the local environment.

Wildman Wilderness Lodge covers approximately 3.2 hectares and is situated in the midst of the Mary River National Park and wetlands. Vegetation includes stringybarks (Eucalyptus obliqua), mangroves (Rhizophora spp.), rosellas (Hibiscus sabdariffa), turkey bushes (Calytrix exstipulata) and a variety of native grasses.

Wildlife known to inhabit the property includes agile wallabies (Macropus agilis), saltwater crocodiles (Crocodylus porosus) and more than 280 species of birds.
