Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / VIC / The Patch

Dr Christopher King and Chuen-Lian Shiau are the owners of The Patch, a property situated in Percydale, approximately 100km west of Bendigo, Victoria. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary, also used for education, short-term accommodation and recreation. The property is undergoing revegetation, and is registered with Victoria’s Bushbroker program, a native vegetation credit system.

The property spans approximately 20 hectares and is characterized by grassy eucalypt woodlands on rising land. Vegetation is comprised of mixed native remnant vegetation, natural regrowth and revegetated areas.

A wide range of wildlife is present including eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), red-necked wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), antechinuses and a variety of native amphibians, lizards, snakes and birds.
