Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / QLD / Kangaby Park

Jody O’Regan is the owner of Kangaby Park, a property located approximately 16km northwest of Rockhampton. The property is a residence and wildlife-friendly sanctuary. Having been cleared for horses many years ago, Jody is now able to allow vegetation and native wildlife to recover uninterrupted on the property, and it is her intent to continue to encourage native wildlife to be rehabilitated at the property.

The sanctuary covers approximately 5.6 hectares featuring ironbark trees, native shrubs and grasses. Wildlife species known to inhabit the property include eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), agile (Macropus agilis) and whiptail (Macropus parryi) wallabies, and brushtail possums (Trichosurus vulpecula). The property is also home to a range of native bird and reptile species.
