John and Louise Alexander are the owners of Barachi, a property located approximately 40km southwest of Gympie. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary used for recreation, and it is John and Louise’s intent to continue looking after its biodiversity values to the best of their ability. Barachi is also registered with the Land for Wildlife program.
The sanctuary covers approximately 12.15 hectares of rural land, with native bushland being complimented by John and Louise’s planting efforts. Known wildlife inhabitants of Barachi include red-necked wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus), squirrel gliders (Petaurus norfolcensis), a variety of snakes and a wide range of native bird species.
