Airlie Morris is the owner of The Block, a property located approximately 55km north of Ballarat. The property is formerly cleared land located in the middle of State Forest which is used as a recreational camping block and features a small hut. It is Airlie’s intent to naturally revegetate The Block by allowing the surrounding forest to expand.
The sanctuary covers 32.4 hectares with a predominant vegetation type of box-ironbark forest. Known wildlife inhabitants of The Block include wedge-tailed eagles (Aquila audax), and an abundance of both ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) and common brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) possums and eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus).
