Robin Yates Family Trust is the owner of Noosa Private Nature Reserve, a property located approximately 30km west of Noosa Heads. The property is a residence and dedicated wildlife sanctuary used for wildlife rehabilitation, and it is Robin’s intent to continue to revegetate the land with native species and maintain it for its current uses. The property is currently protected through a Voluntary Conservation Agreement with Noosa Council and is also a member of the Land for Wildlife program.
Noosa Private Nature Reserve sanctuary covers 45 hectares which contains a range of different habitats including rainforest vegetation types.
The area is known for its bird life with over 120 bird species found on the reserve. Other species found on the property include mammals such as short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus), and numerous, fish, reptile and butterfly species.
