Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / QLD / Kangajoey Wildlife and Farm Animal Sanctuary

Stephen and Kym Chiesa are the owners of Kangajoey Wildlife and Farm Animal Sanctuary a property situated in Nome southeast of Townsville, Queensland. The land is set up to rehabilitate and release native wildlife and take in unwanted farm animals and give them a home for life. The owner’s future intentions are to plant more Australian natives and continue with our passion of being advocates for wildlife as well as unwanted farm animals.

Kangajoey Wildlife and Farm Animal Sanctuary spans 6.32 hectares. The property largely has Eucalypts with all trees on the property Australian natives except the fruit trees. The property provides habitat for a range of species including macropods, Northern brown bandicoots (Isoodon macrourus), Northern bettongs (Bettongia tropica), goannas (Varanus sp.), possums and several native bird species
