Anne Heinrich and Harold Ralston are the owners of Wallibree, a property located in Comboyne, approximately 50km South-West of Port Macquarie, New South Wales. The property is primarily a home and dedicated wildlife sanctuary, and also features a small orchard. Nature conservation is Anne and Harold’s highest priority and they continue to restore some weed infested areas back to natural bushland. The large majority of the property (43.67 hectares) is protected by a Voluntary Conservation Agreement with the NSW Department of the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water.
The sanctuary covers 45 hectares of forested ridge between two creek lines at the northern end of a basalt plateau on the Mid North Coast of new South Wales. Wallibree contains examples of wet scelrophyll forest, warm temperate rainforest and subtropical rainforest, all with a diverse variety of native understory plant species.
Numerous wildlife species present on the sanctuary include swift parrots (Lathamus discolor), Wompoo fruit doves (Ptilinopus magnificus), masked owls (Tyto novaehollandiae), sooty owls (Tyto tenebricosa), glossy black cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus lathami) and barking owls (Ninox connivens). which are TSC Act listed Vulnerable species and occasional visitors to Wallibree. Mammal species include the spotted-tailed quoll (Dasyurus maculatus) and grey-headed flying fox (Pteropus poliocephalus).
