David and Cindy Brassil are the owners of Enraeh, a property located in Michelago, New South Wales, approximately 50km South of Canberra. The property’s primary uses are as a home and for native wildlife rehabilitation and release. It is David and Cindy’s intention to continue the safe rehabilitation of macropods for release to the wild, which they currently undertake as members of Wildcare.
The sanctuary covers 10 hectares predominantly featuring mature yellow box (Eucalyptus melliodora) and apple box (Eucalyptus bridgesiana) accompanied by established and newly planted natives, including wattle (Acacia spp.), paperbarks (Melaleuca spp.), grevillea and native grass species. Enraeh backs onto larger farming land as well as the nearly 13,000 hectare Tinderry Nature Reserve.
Wildlife occurrences on the property are dominated by a wide variety of native bird species, while eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus) and common brushtail possums (Trichosurus vulpecula) are also present.
