Tobin and Jennifer Rowallan are the owners of a property located approximately 10km southwest of Hobart. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and residence, and it is Tobin and Jennifer’s intention to revegetate a former paddock with native flora species to provide food and shelter for local wildlife, and to eventually use the property to rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife.
The sanctuary covers 0.44 hectares of semi-rural land at the base of Mt. Wellington, backing on to remnant bushland. Vegetation types are predominantly comprised of native species, while wildlife known to occur on the sanctuary includes brush-tailed possums (Trichosurus vulpecula), Bennett’s wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus) and Tasmanian pademelons (Thylogale billardierri).
