Humane Society International’s supporters have been increasingly voicing their concerns about farm animal welfare and the impact of animal agriculture on the environment – and we have heard you.
HSI is very excited to announce that we are launching a program aimed at encouraging our supporters and the broader community who have an interest in reducing their meat consumption to try going meat-free just one day a week!
To help you make the shift we will be posting weekly recipes and helpful blogs discussing the benefits of reducing your meat intake and tackling some of the trickier aspects of adopting a meat-free diet.
As a community we have the opportunity to make a positive difference for our planet, and HSI’s goal is to make it easy, delicious, and rewarding to do your bit for the environment by reducing meat consumption. By cutting out meat just one day a week you can drastically reduce your carbon footprint and reduce demand for factory farmed produce – not to mention try some incredible new recipes!

Rhiannon Cunningham is a Campaigner for Humane Society International and has been with the organisation since 2015. She is admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW as a solicitor and has a Masters in Environmental Law from The Australian National University. Currently, she is in her final year of a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science, with a focus on conservation and sustainability. Her work with HSI is primarily focused on environmental policy, native wildlife protection, and animal welfare laws.
