Lydia Plim is the owner of Kuluha Stud, a property situated in Glenrowan, Victoria. The property is currently a wildlife sanctuary also used for agriculture — primarily for raising cattle and breeding and training horses. The land is divided into large grazing paddocks, has multiple dams with established shade trees in the paddocks and a small, forested area with a seasonal creek running through it. Owner Lydia intends to create and nurture a farm run on sustainable non-harmful agricultural practices, no harmful chemicals and to improve the land by creating safe zones and wildlife corridors, protecting and enhancing the riparian, dam and forest areas. She desires to create a peaceful, beautiful, harmonious, natural living and working environment for people, her animals and native species.
Kuluha Stud spans 71.4 hectares across a small eucalypt woodland, riparian zone with native vegetation, and open grassland with mixed pasture. The boundary fencelines have native species of trees that are mostly eucalypts.
A growing number of wildlife is found at Kuluha Stud, including kangaroos, magpies (Gymnorhina tibicen), king parrots (Alisterus scapularis), willie wagtails (Rhipidura leucophrys), crimson rosellas (Platycercus elegans), eastern rosellas (Platycercus eximius), sulphur-crested cockatoos (Cacatua galerita), wedge-tailed eagles (Aquila audax), zebra finches (Taeniopygia castanotis), superb fairywrens (Malurus cyaneus), common blackbirds (Turdus merula), turquoise parrots (Neophema pulchella). There is also a high potential to find the very rare regent honeyeater (Anthochaera phrygia).
