Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Tinkle

Lindy Duncombe is the owner of Tinkle, a property situated in Stokers Siding, New South Wales. The property is a wildlife sanctuary with lush dense rainforest that slopes down into a gully and back up on its length as well as old forest surrounds. Lindy hopes to maintain Tinkle’s tranquility and would like to assist in the establishment of a wildlife corridor with her neighbours who are also a Wildlife Land Trust sanctuary. Tinkle has been a place of residence for Lindy for 19 years and she continues to do her best to maintain natural habitat by clearing invasive weeds such as Lantana and using organic products to keep all in harmony.

The property spans 2.8 hectares including subtropical rainforest classified as Far North Lowland Subtropical Rainforest. Native vegetation species found at Tinkle include tallow wood (Eucalyptus microcorys), brushbox (Lophostemon confertus), huge stringy bark gums, lemon myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) & water vines (Cissus sp.).

An extensive number of wildlife is found at Tinkle including black cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus sp.), fly catchers (Myiagra sp.), wompoo fruit doves (Ptilinopus magnificus), a variety of frog species, koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), ring-tailed possums (Pseudocheirus peregrinus), sugar gliders (Petaurus breviceps), brush-tailed possums (Trichosurus vulpecula), pythons, brown tree snakes (Boiga Irregularis) and insects including fireflies (Lampyridae sp.).
