Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Ryders Creek Farm

Hans and Karin Walloschek are the owners of Ryders Creek Farm, a property located approximately 10km west of Berry. The property is a dedicated wildlife-friendly sanctuary and lifestyle farmlet running a sustainable number of beef cattle, and it is Hans and Karin’s intent to continue to maintain Ryders Creek Farm’s good condition in a sustainable fashion.

The property covers 24.28 hectares of which approximately 40% is native bushland and 60% well-fenced paddocks. The dominant vegetation type of subtropical rainforest is complemented by a variety of eucalypt species.

Wildlife species known to inhabit the sanctuary include wedge-tailed eagles (Aquila audax), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), red-bellied black (Pseudechis porphyriacus) and tiger (Notechis scutatus) snakes, pythons, various species of wood ducks, and a wide variety of indigenous birdlife.
