Helen Sheppard and Adam Shaw are the owners of Moondarra, a property situated in Jacob Creek, approximately 30km north of Traralgon, Victoria. The property is a holiday home and recreational site as well as a dedicated wildlife sanctuary, and the owners intend to live there permanently in the near future.
The property covers approximately 5.5 hectares, with two-thirds consisting of eucalypt woodland and the remainder housing the homestead and gardens. Native vegetation largely consists of eucalypts and ferns.
A wide range of native species are present including swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), brushtail possums (Trichosurus vulpecula) and various frogs and birds. Non-native species including red foxes (Vulpes vulpes) and deer are also present.
