An extensive and growing number of wildlife is found at Meleele, including birds: Great Northern bower bird (Chlamydera nuchalis), orange footed scrub fowl (Megapodius reinwardt), bush turkey (Alectura lathami), dusty honey eaters (Myzomela obscura), blue helmeted honey eater (Entomyzon cyanotis), spangled drongo (Dicrurus bracteatus), magpie lark (Grallina cyanoleuca), sunbirds, lorikeets, quails, reptiles: salt water crocodiles (Crocodylus porosus), amethyst pythons (Simalia amethistina) and goannas and mammals: bandicoots and wallabies.
