Mark and Fiona Bush are the owners of a property situated in Parkerville, approximately 35km east of Perth, Western Australia. The property is a residence and dedicated wildlife sanctuary, and it is the owners’ intention to actively maintain and conserve the existing bushland as habitat for native wildlife. The property is additionally registered with Land for Wildlife.
The property is a bush block spanning 2 hectares, populated by eucalypt woodland. Vegetation is dominated by marri (Corymbia calophylla) and jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata), with an understory of native plants.
A wide range of wildlife is found on the property including western grey kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus), quendas (Isoodon obesulus) and an array of native bird species. Short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus) also lived on the property up until several years ago.
