Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / WA / Hi Vallee Farm

Johannes T Lambers and Marion L Cambridge are the owners of Hi Vallee Farm, a property situated in Warradarge, approximately 28kms northwest of Badgingarra, Western Australia. The property is also located approximately 6km away from Alexander Morrison National Park. The highly plant-species rich Don and Joy Williams Nature Reserve was launched in 2024 and comprises 400 hectares. The remainder of the 2000 hectares are mainly pasture but also contain some uncleared native vegetation. The property is currently used for education and wildlife research with the owners intending to establish future protections for the property.

Hi Vallee Farm spans 2000 hectares across Kwongan heathland and Eucalypt woodland. The property boasts an incredible 600 endemic native flora species as listed in Jolanda Keeble’s Field Guide.

An extensive range of wildlife has been documented at Hi Vallee Farm, including honey possums (Tarsipes rostratus), euros (Osphranter robustus), western grey kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus), echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), Endangered Carnaby’s black cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus latirostris) and a range of other birds including migratory rainbow bee-eaters (Merops ornatus) and barking owls (Ninox connivens) which are a priority species in Western Australia. Various species of bats, dunnarts, native mice, lizards, snakes, spiders, yabbies, moths, butterflies, fungi and slime mould have also been recorded on the property.
