Rodney and Melissa Taylor are the owners of Firetail Sanctuary, a wildlife sanctuary situated in Wondecla, approximately 9km southeast of Herberton, Queensland. The property is adjacent to Stranbridge Forest Nature Refuge. Rodney and Melissa aim to revegetate the waterways including the dam of the property.
The property spans 12.5 hectares across wet forest bordering Uplands rainforest. The property consists of 10 acres of cleared land and 20 acres of bushland. The property provides habitat for a range of species including tree kangaroos (Dendrolagus sp.), barking owls (Ninox connivens), pademelons (Thylogale sp.), green ringtail possums (Pseudochirops archeri), platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) and a wide range of birds and reptiles.
