Robert Clements and Yael Katz are the owners of Ecopia Retreat, a property situated in Seddon, Kangaroo Island off South Australia. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and luxury off-grid eco-accommodation with a focus on nature-based experiences.
Vegetation is characterized by native grasslands and eucalypt woodland dominated by cup gum (Eucalyptus cosmophylla), pink gum (E. fasciculosa), blue gum (E. leucoxylon) and Xanthorrhoea species.
A wide array of wildlife is present including Kangaroo Island kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus fuliginosus), tammar wallabies (Macropus eugenii), koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), brushtail possums (Trichosurus vulpecula), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), heath monitors (Varanus rosenbergi) and an endangered subspecies of the glossy black cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami halmaturinus).
