Jacque Jarrett is the owner of Compassionate Grounds, a property located approximately 35km south of Innisfail. The property is a residence and dedicated wildlife sanctuary, and it is Jacque’s intent for it to remain as is for the benefit of native wildlife and vegetation species.
The property covers approximately 10.12 hectares, and features a range of rainforest species typical of the Wet Tropics such as club mosses, cycads, and ferns. Examples of wildlife species known to occur on the sanctuary include southern cassowaries (Casuarius casuarius), red-legged pademelons (Thylogale stigmatica), bush turkeys (Alectura lathami), water dragons (Physignathus lesueurii), a wide range of bird species, and various snakes, lizards and other reptiles.
