Grant Whiteley is the owner of Boyneley, a property located approximately 60km southwest of Port Macquarie. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary also used as an art studio, and it is Grant’s intent to enhance wildlife habitat on Boyneley by removing invasive vegetation species.
The property totals 15.4 hectares of ex-cattle farming land featuring native vegetation species such as Eucalypts and Acacias. Wildlife species known to inhabit the sanctuary include eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) and ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) possums, long-nosed bandicoots (Perameles nasuta), and microbats such as the eastern-bent wing bat (Miniopterus schreibersii oceanensis).
