Australia must help the global effort to protect rhinos and elephants

We need to act now to close the loopholes in Australian laws which enable any elephant ivory and rhino horn trafficked into Australia to be traded domestically. As long as loopholes remain open, it is easier for poachers and traffickers to find markets, and what remains of elephant and rhino populations is at risk.

Today, all five rhino species and both elephant species are threatened with extinction. Efforts are underway across the globe to save these iconic animals.

Take action and ask your state or territory environment minister, and the federal environment minister Tanya Plibersek, to urgently implement a domestic ban on the sale of elephant ivory and rhino horn in your jurisdiction.
