Program Manager – Policy (Wildlife)
Do you love Australian wildlife and have a passion to protect it? Do you want to help create a humane world for wildlife with the power of a large global NGO behind you? Are you a strategic thinker determined to get results? Humane World for Animals is looking for a full-time policy advocate to lead the wildlife protection campaigns in our Australian office. Formerly called Humane Society International, we are a highly effective global animal protection charity, and leaders in saving wildlife from exploitation, habitat loss and cruelty. In the role you will pursue law reform and policy advances with governments and corporations to better protect wildlife in Australia and overseas.

Job description and selection criteria
Salary guide: $90,000 to $100,000 p.a. depending on experience.

Volunteer Opportunities
Where would Humane World for Animals be without our volunteers? These passionate individuals help us on a daily basis and generously offer their time, energy and positive outlook to support our work and the animals they care so deeply about. There are not enough ways to say thank you to these individuals.
Scientific Nominations and Research
We are sometimes looking for more volunteers to help us prepare scientific nominations for threatened species and ecological communities under the Federal EPBC Act. Humane World has many volunteers throughout Australia who have helped our campaigners by completing research and/or writing nominations to increase legal recognition and protection of our precious species and ecological communities. If you have ecological expertise, and you have completed an undergraduate science or related degree, please get in touch with us for information on the species and communities we are working on getting listed.
Administration
Humane World has many volunteers who help us with a variety of office work including mail-outs, writing receipts, filing and typing. Our only office within Australia is located in Avalon Beach, NSW. If you can spare some time up in this idyllic location on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, we would love to hear from you.
Humane World does not currently have any projects within Australia where we can provide volunteers with “hands-on” animal protection work.
