The Wildlife Land Trust program offers private landholders an opportunity to dedicate their property to wildlife conservation through conserving, restoring and enhancing their land.
To be eligible for the program, properties must be sized over 1 acre, however exceptions can be made for smaller properties with high biodiversity value.
The Wildlife Land Trust is an inclusive program with participating landholders varying in their land use. Our current members form a nationwide community of farmers, eco-tourism business owners, conservationists and environmentally responsible landholders protecting rare and common species alike.
To become a member, landholders agree to not partake in recreational or commercial hunting of animals, or the commercial logging or harvesting of timber products or other activities that would destroy wildlife habitat on their property. The agreement is not legally binding, and the program can complement current or future land protection arrangements that members may also have.
