Jody and Tom O’Regan is the owner of Kangaby Wildlife, a property situated near Rosedale, approximately 70km northwest of Bundaberg, Queensland. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary also used for wildlife rehabilitation, and Jody and Tom intend to protect and preserve the existing native vegetation as habitat for wildlife.
Kangaby Wildlife covers approximately 200 hectares of eucalypt woodland, preserved for the benefit of resident wildlife. The property also houses a rehabilitation site for kangaroos and wallabies.
Native species present include eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), rufous bettongs (Aepyprymnus rufescens), squirrel gliders (Petaurus norfolcensis), lace monitors (Varanus varius), sand monitors (Varanus gouldii), Tommy roundhead dragons (Diporiphora australis), coastal carpet pythons (Morelia spilota mcdowelli), black-headed pythons (Aspidites melanocephalus), red-bellied black snakes (Pseudechis porphyriacus) and green tree frogs (Ranoidea caerulea).
An array of native birds is also present including laughing kookaburras (Dacelo novaeguineae), brush turkeys (Alectura lathami) and pheasant coucals (Centropus phasianinus).
