Rachel Pullen and Lisa Kelly are the owners of Gypsy Grace Cottage, a property situated in Nimbin in New South Wales. The property is currently used as a wildlife sanctuary and the owners intend to maintain and offer grasslands, rainforest, wildlife food sources and wild areas to offer habitat for wildlife on their property.
The property spans just over 1 hectare and was previously a local dairy farm that has been planted with native and local rainforest trees and plants over the last 14 years. The land includes local dry rainforest and wet sclerophyll forest: Northern Hinterland Grey Gum-
Mahogany Grassy Forest.
An extensive and growing number of wildlife is found at Gypsy Grace Cottage, including wallabies, echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), bandicoots (Isoodon sp.), microbats, flying foxes, carpet pythons (Morelia spilota), tree snakes (Dendrelaphis punctulatus), blue tongue lizards (Tiliqua sp.), water dragons (Intellagama lesueurii), goannas (Varanus sp.), lots of native bees, birdwing butterflies (Ornithoptera richmondia), magpies (Gymnorhina tibicen), peewees (Grallina cyanoleuca), lots of different finches and wrens (Malurus sp.), willie wagtails (Rhipidura leucophrys), tawny frog mouths (Podargus strigoides), swallows, kookaburras (Dacelo novaeguineae), barn owls (Tyto alba) and green tree frogs (Litoria caerulea).
