We’ve made great progress in encouraging brands and retailers selling wool goods in Australia to commit to using non-mulesed wool. So far more than 100 companies have made a public commitment thanks to the lobbying work of our campaigners and pressure from consumers.
While many farmers have made the switch to more humane methods of controlling flystrike, or have bred sheep naturally resistant to it, many will continue to mules their sheep until the market for it dried up.
