Despite years of overwhelming objections from the public, the Victorian Government frustratingly continues to support the state’s duck shooting season.
These hunting seasons have resulted in the cruel deaths of nearly 3.7 million birds over the last decade and contributed to the destruction of beautiful wetlands.
A recent Victorian Game Management Authority survey disturbingly found that just 20% of duck shooters could correctly identify relevant water bird species. Without these basic skills how can they be trusted to not shoot threatened species?
With so much cruelty involved and our wildlife in need of more help than ever, duck hunting needs to stop.
Please write to Premier Andrews to let him know it’s time for Victoria to finally turn its back on this horrific practice.
