over 100 animal rescues for wildlife sos at the 2010  commonwealth games

HSI project partners, Wildlife SOS, have completed their duties at the Commonwealth Games as part of the official Animal Rescue Unit.

Having set up an exclusive hotline to receive rescue calls; working late into the night for hours to make sure wildlife are found; and carefully moving them to safer environments – Wildlife SOS have ensured the wellbeing of wildlife has not been ignored.

As the Games come to a close, the team has tallied a total of 122 rescues, including:

4 cobra snakes

1 krait snake

1 red sand boa

1 wolf snake

1 blind snake

1 monitor lizard

2 mynah birds

2 crows

13 pigeons

3 bats

6 monkeys

88 dogs

Congratulations for a great effort from Wildlife SOS! Amidst the international event and competitions, HSI is thankful that Wildlife SOS was there to make sure displaced urban wildlife was humanely moved to safer environments.
