Painted hunting dogs reunited - June 2009

JUNE 2009
Painted Dog Conservation, HSI's project partner in Zimbabwe, has rescued and reunited a pack of young painted hunting dogs left to fend for themselves when the alpha male and female were killed. Finding their way to PDC's rehabilitation facility extremely thin and weak, the dogs will now be nurtured back to health before being released in the Hwange National Park.

Click here (PDF 893 kB) to read about the team's efforts to reunite the pack, as well as their anti-poaching activities, and community outreach programs that are educating local children about wildlife and biodiversity.

HSI has funded the work of Painted Dog Conservation since 2003, and continues to provide resources for anti-poaching activities and education programs for the protection of painted dogs in Zimbabwe.
