Help us save NSW wildlife
The Baird Government is currently considering proposals to scrap important biodiversity laws, rolling four Acts (the Native Vegetation Act, Nature Conservation Trust Act, Threatened Species Conservation Act, and parts of the National Parks and Wildlife Act) into an all-encompassing Biodiversity Conservation Act.
The proposals under consideration are not only lacklustre but potentially highly dangerous in terms of threatened species and habitat conservation. HSI is working with a coalition of environmental groups to fight this proposal, calling on Premier Baird to abandon the deeply flawed Biodiversity Conservation Bill and instead consult the community to ensure that future laws prevent broad-scale land clearing, stops the destruction of endangered bushland, and protects our wildlife and environment.
Cabinet Ministers are expecting to meet in the coming weeks to finalise these laws so we need your help now!
Please help by writing to Premier Baird to let him know you want our native wildlife to be protected not further threatened by land-clearing which this Bill will promote.
Please take action by 6 September 2016.
