ABOUT THE ARTIST

Simon, born in Australia in 1969, is a graduate of Sydney College of the Arts and concentrates on painting and drawing. In 2006, his first solo exhibition Avian featured birds, particularly the ones that live in the St George area of Sydney. Current solo exhibitions include Ride On ad the Frances Keevil Gallery, Sydney, Renault New Generation and Bright Road Object both at the Iain Dawson Gallery. Simon has received numerous awards including finalist in the 2008 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, the Mosman Art Prize, Prometheus Visual Arts Award and in 2007 Churchie National Emerging Art Award Exhibition and the Art of Sydney Awards.
